BeliefsFor centuries the church has allowed a set of doctrines to divide them into separate sects. The last thing we long for is to draw hard lines in the sand that divide us yet again. Another one of our core 420 verses is 1 John 4:20 which says, "If anyone claims to love God but he cannot stand a fellow human, his love for God is fake; how is it possible to not love someone you can see with your eyes yet claim to love an invisible God?" (Mirror Bible)
Disagreement does not need to end in the dissolve of relationship, especially as the family of God. We are all on the road of discovering more and more of the gift of grace, unwrapping all He has given us in Christ. While we do believe in community and that we need one another, we also believe that He is our ultimate teacher and the author and finisher of our faith, of our persuasion. He has given us the anointing that abides and teaches us all things. (1 John 2) With that being said we are completely convinced about Christ and Him crucified as revealed through the Holy Scriptures! The Apostles Creed is a great starting point: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, We believe in the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures as God-breathed revelation that points to the final revelation of Abba, the Word of God, Jesus.
We believe in the gifts of the Spirit are for today. We believe that heaven is here and now, at hand, and within us. We believe that repentance is not the way to get to heaven because heaven is already here but rather it is the fruit of a life that's encountered the goodness and kindness of God. We believe that the Christian life is not one meant to be burdensome and heavy, rather Jesus said His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Friendship with Jesus makes living life abundant and easy! We believe that Jesus hated evil and loved righteousness and because of this He was anointed with the oil of gladness. He was the happiest man to ever walk planet earth and He is still happy living inside of us. We do not believe death is the doorway to heaven, but rather His broken body and shed blood is the doorway to life! When we realize what His life laid down accomplished, we get to cash in on all the benefits of the Father's covenant He made with Jesus on behalf of the human race! We believe that intimacy is the most important aspect of our life with Christ. His children know His voice, and WE are all His offspring! (Acts 17) We believe there is only one way and one faith to experience heaven and that is through the person of Jesus. In Christ we see that God made the way and we get to be persuaded of what He is persuaded about. This persuasion comes through intimacy with the lover of our soul and study of the scriptures. |
