The 420 Church : Who Are We?

WHO ARE WE
This is a ministry of Nathan and Melissa Dickerson. Their hearts burn with passionate fire to see this generation be touched with the power of God and the good news of the gospel of Jesus. Nathan has been preaching, prophesying and leading worship for 14 years. Nathan and Melissa live in Spring, TX with their two dogs Pneuma and Kylie and enjoy being outdoors, playing music together, eating curry and playing board games. We long to see the Ecclesia equipped in power and love!
OUR MISSION
We are on a mission to reach a depressed and dying generation with the ecstatic joy of the Lord, an empathetic and compassionate love that empowers a life free from sin and equipped for the work of the ministry.
ECSTATIC UNION:
"In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you." - John
14:20 (ESV)
Effortless union describes the kind of relationship we partake in with Father, Son and Spirit without any works of our own. It doesn't take fasting, prayer, meditation, contemplation, doing the right thing, saying the right thing, or by golly even going to church to be in union with God. We are in union with Him because of Him! We've been baptized into His death, resurrection and ascension and now we are seated with Him in heavenly places!
The fruit of the Spirit is an out-flowing of the rivers of living water inside our very being! The Christian life is not meant to be full of burdens that God gives you! His yolk is easy and His burden is light. He's given us everything we need for life and Godliness!
Colossians says that the fullness of the Godhead dwelt in the Body of Christ and we are in Him and He is in us! You and I do not have only a portion of the Holy Spirit, or a portion of Christ! We've been given Him! As Jesus is so are we in this world (1 John 4:17)! Christ in us, the mystic secret, the hope of glory! Join us in the joyful uncovering of all the implications of these truths!
Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5:13, "We are blissfully out of our minds with pleasure before our Maker; He delights in our ecstasy. Our insane mode is between us and God; we promise to behave ourselves sane and sober before you!" (Mirror Bible) Though Paul promises to behave sane and sober, we don't. If there are times we appear sane and sober, it is for your sake, but let's be clear, sometimes, ok a lot of times, this ecstasy is uncontrollable. Why would we want to stop what God is doing, unless it's for your benefit!
EMPATHETIC ACTION:
"If anyone says, 'I love God,' and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God who he has not seen." - 1 John 4:20 (ESV)
Empathy by definition is by means of your imagination, to enter someone else's perceived state of darkness until you appear to be infused with it. Compassion is then to take action.
This is exactly what Jesus did for us on the cross!. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says that He became our sin so that we would become His righteousness! John the beloved writes that the light that was in the beginning entered the world and the darkness could not overtake it. Jesus entered into our state of subjective separation ; us hiding in the bushes of shame with Adam, and brought the truth of our existence to light. He never shames us for our experience but put to shame death. Meaning He made sin of no effect and death, He took its sting!
Jesus also reveals the very nature and character of the Father (Heb 1:3), and that is love and by nature love is compassionate.
The divine nature flowing from our union ought to look like us entering into the world's perceived state of darkness and being with them there. It doesn't mean becoming depressed, but it simply means befriending them in their mess. To weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice!. What if we can get a hold of this union so that the delight of the Father actually emanates from our being that when we simply hug people and enter their sphere, they feel the love of the Father?
This verse isn't meant to be shameful, but an awakening. If you actually don't know how to love people, it's crucial that you understand that love of God displayed through the person of Jesus. Then your love wouldn't be faked, but an authentic expression of the real you!
EMPOWERING LOVE:
"For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power." - 1 Corinthians 4:20 (ESV)
"The Kingdom of God (the dominion of the Christ life) is about an empowered life and not just a matter of quoting your favorite teacher or scripture." - 1 Corinthians 4:20 (Mirror Bible)
Jesus' gospel that He preached was that the kingdom of God, the kingdom of heaven is here and now, at hand, among us and within us! This gospel is recorded 127X's throughout the New Testament.
Our yes to the work of Jesus brings about radical transformation! The gospel isn't just about escaping hell and waiting for death to save us! It's about a life transformed into the likeness of our Dad. A life that operates in the power of God to heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out demons! A life where like Peter, our shadow brings life to the lifeless and a heart that causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust.
This message is more than just words on a page, but an eternal utterance from the giver of life through the person of Jesus! He changed everything!
